The Department of Sociology was established in 1960. Presently the Department is headed by Dr. Chetana Desai. The department has a departmental room of Space approx. 125 sq. ft.

Staff Details

Department of Sociology runs various sociological activities both Academic and extracurricular activities:

Gender Sensitization Workshop: Conducted by the Sociology Dept. to sensitize students regarding the gender inequality in society.
Speakers: Mr. Anand Pawar and his team of Social workers and activists.
AIDS Awareness Workshop: Mrs. Smita Apte
Lecture on Problem of De addiction. Speaker: Mr. Kaustoobh Joglekar
Screening of various Documentaries: Mr. Anand pawar and Alka Joshi in their workshop showed films on related issues.

Admission Procedure:
There is no special admission procedure for admission with respect to F.Y., S.Y. and T.Y. classes. The admission is given by the college office. For S.Y.B.A.(Special)course the students seeking admissions are given the admissions. However, if number of students applying for the course exceeds the intake capacity, the admission shall be given on the merit.
