National Service Scheme (NSS) is under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and NSS cell, Higher and technical education, Govt. of Maharashtra, and Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

Programs of NSS:

The NSS Units organize the regular activities in slums for community service. Duration of these services is 120 hours. In this services, major activities are orientation of volunteers, campus cleaning, Tree plantation, awareness program on drug abuse, AIDS, Population education. The NSS unit organize a special camp of 7 days’ duration. This camp is an integral part of NSS. For this camp college has adopted a village ‘Daundkarwadi’, Taluka Rajgurunagar, district Pune for three years from the year 2024-25. The NSS volunteers are expected to be in the camp throughout the period. The NSS units should ensure that various activities undertaken during the camp are so planned and organized that it ultimately leads to fulfilment of the objectives of holding a camp. In addition to some manual work, the camp should provide opportunity for community living, discussion in group and cultural activities etc. Volunteers conducted tree plantation programme, cleaning of village & school premises. Lectures on various topics related to village development i.e. awareness in environment, GIS mapping, women development, soil and water testing were also organised during the camp.
