• Dr. Sandesh Kurade received Dr. A. M. Mathai Cash Prize award in the webinar on “Awareness of Statistical Software’s” in conjunction with the annual academic competitions of ISPS from 13-14^th          March 2021 for presenting a research paper titled, “Fuzzy NSGA for Multi-Objective Transportation Model at Different Pareto Fronts” in best research papers presentation.

• Five students from T.Y.B.Sc participated in “Hands on training program on PYTHON” at Modern College, Ganeshkhind, Pune on 3rd Feb.2020. The program was funded by Board of Student’s Development, SPPU.
• Rujuta Kulkarni, Madhura Pote, Janaki Inamdar, Aparna Patil, and Jyoti Wagh won second prize at Intercollegiate T.Y.B.Sc. Statistics Project presentation competition organized in collaboration with Board of student’s development, SPPU, Pune and PUSA conducted on 11th March 2020 held at Tuljaram Chaturchand College, of Arts, Science and Commerce, Baramati (Autonomous).

• A three-day camp for leadership and personality development for careers in Statistics is scheduled from 13th to 15th December 2018 at Hiware Bazar (Model Village) Tal. Parner Dist. Ahmednagar. In this camp ten students from our college were selected and they were actively participated in above all the activities. In cultural activity, students from various colleges perform drama, in which Mr. Pavan Pandurang Kaulapure of our college presented a drama. In public speech activity Miss. Lachi Nahar of our college got first rank. She spoke on the topic of life of Dr. P.C. Mahalnobis a great Statistician in India.
• of Statistics, P. E. Society’s Modern College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Ganeshkhind, Pune had organized one day “Hands on training program on R-software and C programming” on 2nd February 2019 for T.Y. B. Sc. Statistics students. The program was funded by Board of Students development, SPPU. Six (06) students from T.Y. B. Sc. Statistics of our college were selected for the said program and they were actively participated in this program.
• Pavan Kaulapure of T.Y.B.Sc Statistics Ld. Cadet of Unit 3 (MAH) NAVAL UNIT NCC attended CATC 709 held at Pune from 16.08.2018 to 25.08.2018.
• Akshay Thopate, Akhilesh Chaudhari, Devayani Shete, Sangita Rathod, and Tejasvi Raje won second prize at Intercollegiate T.Y.B.Sc. Statistics Project presentation competition organized in collaboration with Board of student’s development, SPPU, Pune and PUSA conducted on 08th March 2019 held at Modern College, of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune-05.

• Neha Londhe and Mr. Ajit Sonawane (T.Y. B.Sc. Statistics) participated and presented a poster based on historical data namely Titanic in the State level workshop on “Business Analytics and Statistics” organized by Department of Statistics, Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Shivajinagar, Pune 411 005 under Savitribai Phule Pune University’s Quality Improvement Programme and won Third prize for poster competition.

• Mansi Kulkarni, Miss Sayali Thorat, Mr. Varad Apte and Mr. Abhishek Das won first prize at Intercollegiate T.Y.B.Sc. Project competition organized in collaboration with Board of student’s welfare and SPPUSA conducted on 4th March 2017 held at New Arts, Commerce and Science College, Ahmednagar 414001.

• Aishwarya Ubale and Shivani Renavikar participated and won Second Prize in PPT presentation in Mathematics and Statistics Competition organized by Kannada Sangha Pune’s Kaveri College of Science & Commerce, Pune on 6th January 2017 guided by Dr. N.N.Rajput.

• Raveenisha Chincholkar and Sudeep Kondal participated in the workshop: “Campus to corporate: Career in Statistics and analytics” held on 20-21 November 2015 at Sunandan Divatia School of Science, SVKM’s NMIMS (Deemed-to-be) University Mumbai.
• Sudeep Kondal, Raveenisha Chincholkar, Shreenivas Gaddam, Pragati Ubale and Priya Chandak participated at state level workshop on “Reliability and Survival analysis” on 9th Jan. 2016 at Modern College, Shivajinagar, Pune.

1. A field visit is arranged for SYBSc Students at Agriculture College of Narveer Tanajiwadi on January 16, 2025. 14 Students comprising of 3 girls and 11 boys went on this field visit.
2. A field visit of S.Y.B.Sc Statistics students was arranged on 01/03/2024 at the National War Memorial Southern Command Prince of Wales, Dr. Rd, Ghorpuri Lines, Dobarwadi, Ghorpadi, Pune 411001. Three faculties and 42 students completed the visit.
3. A field visit for S.Y.B.Sc. Statistics students at Mapro Plant, Shendurjane, Wai on Monday, 13/02/23. 42 students comprising of 24 girls and 18 boys went on this field visit, accompanied by 8 staff members (7 teaching and 1 nonteaching). The purpose of this field visit was to acquaint students with the applications of Statistical Process and Product Control in  the area of food production.
4. For understanding the realistic applications of Design of Experiments (DOE) in agricultural fields, a study tour for T.Y.B.Sc. students was organized to National Agriculture Research Project (NARP), Pune in 2019.

• To study various socio-economic parameters of people living in the villages around the above six forest regions.
• To identify the factors significantly affecting the NTFP activities in these villages.
• To compare the amount of NTFP activities carried in these six regions.
• To study and analyze the pattern of forest fire occurrences in these regions to predict future occurrences.
• To study the uniformity of forest fire occurrences over a period of one year.
• To identify and study the trends in forest, non-forest and water cover of the above six regions using satellite images of over a hundred villages from year 2001 to 2017.
• To study the relation between increase/decrease of populations on the forest cover of the periphery villages for each of the above six regions.
• To carry out exploratory data analysis of all the variables considered in our study.

Placements

• Students after completing their graduation from Statistics they generally prefer to pursue higher studies across reputed universities in India and out of India. 20% to 30% students in every year going abroad to pursue master degree in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science etc. Few of them apply for competitive exams such as MPSC and UPSC.
• In MPSC, Statistics students apply for district Statistical officer (DSO) grade B post.
• The Indian Statistical Service (ISS) is a prestigious civil service under Group A of the Central Civil Services in India. Recruitment to the ISS is conducted through a competitive examination organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics as one of the subjects. The examination typically includes written tests and interviews.

Internships

• The college has received autonomous status and college has adopted NEP from 2022. In which on job training (OJT) component is mentioned at UG and PG level. By keeping this in mind, department have started internship for especially for UG and PG students of statistics subject across colleges and universities from 2024-2025. In which students are selected on merit basis through direct interview.
• Each students can undergo training of softwares, data analysis, report writing, reading and writing research articles etc.
• This internship program is designed to offer undergraduates, postgraduates and research scholars a hands-on experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Data Science, Natural Language Processing, Predictive Modelling, Biostatistics, Survival Analysis, Actuarial Science, Reliability Theory, Applied Mathematics, Optimization & Operation Research, Fuzzy Theory, Advanced data analysis, Sampling Theory, Statistical software’s etc.
